Theme-ing on steam

Condensing all the steam produced worldwide would generate a considerable amount of pure, distilled water. OK maybe not worldwide...
     Boiling ocean water in a tower via solar reflectors piped to the desert to produce steam would serve many purposes:  Steam is used to produce electricity. Steam can be tubed into cities much like in the past where every public building had a boiler for producing live steam for radiators in classrooms,  offices and government buildings.  
       The actual boiling point is lower so less energy is used to produce live steam using ocean water. The saltwater could be pre-heated in transit via black ABS pipe. It would reach a huge coil on the ground with black corrugated tin underneath so the tempurature gradient is maximized. This is a low cost solution for heating water in rural areas in the summer. The coils could be huge!
       Condensing the steam produced is easy. The condensate is simply distilled water which has many applications. This includes a finishing process so that it can be safely ingested by humans or used in manufacturing. You'd be drawing from the vast ocean.
     There would be by-product such as seasalt which has many practical uses such as melting ice on northern roadways in the winter as well as a nutrious food stuff for human consumption that is filled with trace minerals like Iodine.

            There is an Iodine shortage since the US government does not require salt companies to add Iodine anymore. This translates into more thyroid problems throughout the population.  Goiters are a result of Iodine deficency. It's complicated and interesting how Iodine is a fundamental nutrient of humans and animals. Read up on the value of Iodine in foods. The technology is fundamental and would have many spinoffs none of which require capital.

       I've seen a large magnifying lens heat water to a high degree in the desert. Right now, on YouTube one can see giant fresnel lenses evaporating water, cooking food and brazing metals. 

    Steam has many uses such as turning Pelton wheels in saw mills or giving farmers a mechanical advantage threshing grains. Reheated steam becomes super heated and can perform well under load. Steam is the basis of nuclear power plants. It is steam that turns the generators produced by the infinite energy of nuclear reactions.
      Fusion is a little dfferent. Instead of splitting the atom, fusion builds the molecule from simple to complex. This releases energy as well. It has not been perfected. There has been recent breakthroughs with fusion though.  Cold fusion is the hope of many scientists to live up to the promise of eliminating fossil fuels in the future.
         The strongest contender right now is utilizing solar energy. You say clouds get in the way? Why not get above the clouds in a low earth orbit to collect sunlight to be used here on earth? A zeppalin airship could be covered in solar voltaic panels to store the energy in capacitor banks to be off loaded to city grids.  These ships could easily fly south in the winter and north in the summer to follow the natural pattern of the sun as it tracks in its yearly rythmic cycle.
        Secondarily, the wind that blows constantly in mountain passes could be used to our advantage. 

       Far out at sea the wind never stops.  It would be the most advantageous durng the winter months. Mexico has developed a huge wind farm to supply Mexico City with electricty. I've seen this farm and it is truly huge. Developed with European help, it is exemplarly to the rest of Central America. This will mitigate the pollution of fossil fuels.
       You are standing over steam right now. Its fairly far away but when it is close to the surface it can be harnessed and utilized in various ways and even transported over long distances through double insulated pipes to heat cities in the winter.  So let off a little steam. It will do you good.
